Leaders Collective Workshop

Thanks to everyone who attended our Leaders Collective Workshop at the SKMB Assembly. It was great to meet with pastoral and lay leaders from a diversity of churches and talk together about the discipleship and development of young leaders. While each context is unique, we heard how churches and camps are valuing the perspectives of young adults and providing opportunities for them to grow as leaders in Christ. As we set out the vision and goals for Leaders Collective (while answering questions like “who is this for?” and “what does it involve?”), it was encouraging to see a shared desire to develop leaders who demonstrate Christ-like character and a commitment to His church.
Over the next few months, we encourage you to think broadly about the young adults in your church/ministry (individuals who are at least 21 years old, and show interest in growing as a follower of Christ). Then pray about who you might talk with about joining our 2025-26 cohort. Applications will be available later this spring. We’re working to make sure Leaders Collective is accessible to people from all parts of our province, so knowing who is interested for next year will help us as we plan.
Our churches need lay people with a diversity of gifts who are equipped to lead in our churches and communities. From the experience of our 30+ alumni, God uses this program uniquely in each life (even drawing a few into a vocational ministry path). Leaders Collective is a great place for relationship building between young adult leaders of our SKMB churches and an amazing opportunity to develop intergenerational mentoring relationships in your church. It takes time to grow a wise leader, let's not wait.
