Adventures in Discipleship Episode 1: Leaving Home

Leaving Home
Comfort, safety, and familiarity are just a few things that lure us away from Jesus' radical call to discipleship - to be willing to 'give up our own way, take up our cross and follow Him' (Matthew 16:24; Luke 9:23).

The adventure of discipleship that Jesus calls us to requires many times of 'leaving' that which is comfortable, safe, and familiar.

Reflection:
In what ways have you had to 'leave home' during your life of following Jesus? Take some time to write down some of those experiences and the emotions attached. What did that season produce in your life of faith?

In what area of your life is Jesus asking you to 'leave home' and trust him in new ways right now?

SOAR SASK 2023

A Discipleship War Like No Other

An appeal for courage to act against an insidious power

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

1 Corinthians 10:13
