Pastors Credentialing Orientation (PCO)

General
From June 2–4, seven SKMB pastoral leaders (and a couple of spouses) joined about fifty other participants for PCO 2026 at Columbia Bible College (Abbotsford, B.C.). PCO is part of a new leader’s credentialing process. As with previous events, PCO (West) covered similar content, including learning Mennonite Brethren (MB) history and thought, engaging with the MB Confession of Faith, and gaining a sense of the national MB vision and work. Participants were introduced to national and provincial leaders, as well as the leaders of Multiply, Legacy, and MB Seminary. The agenda included worship and prayer times, as well as a tour of the Mennonite Heritage Museum. PCO ended with participants receiving a certificate of PCO completion. The following are several paraphrased quotes from PCO participants:
“The breadth and depth of PCO content was incredibly helpful.”
“The fellowship, networking and times of prayer and worship were great.”
“Ken Esau’s metaphor of us as new leaders wearing a jersey with the front saying JESUS and the back saying MENNONITE BRETHREN was very helpful to me as one from a non-MB background joining this tribe.”
“Attending PCO has given me a deep sense of our denomination’s love for Jesus, the church and the gospel.”
“I felt seen, heard and cared for at PCO.”
