Seeking Renewal and Revival

2024 Conference of African Diaspora Churches

From June 28 -30, some 200 members of Canadian diaspora churches met at Parliament Community Church (Regina). SKMB congregations Mission Pentecostal Church (Regina) and Carmel Pentecostal Church (Saskatoon) hostedthe three-day event, while SKMB, Multiply and ABMB sponsored it. The purpose of the gathering was to inspire spiritual renewal and revival.  The challenge of proclaiming the Gospel in Canada as part of a historical prophecy was repeatedly highlighted. The theme text was 1 Kings 18:21 – “If the Lord is God, follow Him.”

Five choirs from Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Calgary brought tremendous joy and praise. International speakers included Rev. Charles from France, Rev. Bake Jean from Australia, Rev. Rwanda, and Rev. Erik from the USA.ev.Anicet and Rev. Jean de Dieu from Edmonton and Calgary, respectively, came from Canada.  Doug Hiebert, Multiply African Region Director (Ontario) and Paul Loewen, ABMB Director (Alberta), also addressed the conference.

Several profound encouragements were proclaimed throughout the conference:

  • We have a prophetic call to proclaim the gospel in Canada, and we must not relinquish it.
  • We must walk by faith, not fear.
  • We must know who God is, who we are, what God is doing and how we can join him.
  • Our youth needs to be discipled in their faith and inspired to reach Canada with the Gospel
  • We must pray for the leading and filling of the Holy Spirit.
  • We must pray for the peace of our new home (Canada) and build relationships with our Canadian neighbours.
