Marriage Retreat 2026

Couples from Grace Community Church (Herbert) met at Dallas Valley Ranch Camp (just north of Regina) for a weekend marriage retreat. Phil & Janine Gunther facilitated the teaching portions of the retreat.
The retreat's theme was Rejoicing In Marriage (Proverbs 5:18). Couples were led through four sessions featuring sharing, real-life stories, relationship-building activities, and counsel.
Phil & Janine shared experiences from their forty-one years of marriage and raising a family of three boys. Each couple was asked to create a storyboard of their lives from the date of their marriage until this event. Each couple presented their story and shared the hurts and blessings of their marriage journey.
The session topics included:

1. For Thee Or For Me Marriage? – Why and how we live out our marriage matters to God.
2. The Marriage Rock Tumbler – The place of grace in holy matrimony.
3. Becoming One Is No Small Feat – The necessity of prayer.
4. Status Quo Is Not Okay – Aim for more than just surviving.

Thanks so much to our Pastor Brent Hackney and Phil & Janine Gunther for hosting our church's marriage retreat! 
Dallas Valley Ranch Camp was a beautiful venue, especially with all the fall colours! We were very fortunate to have Phil and Janine as the main speakers. Phil challenged us to honour God in our marriages and to use them to inspire others to know Jesus more. Janine was a great storyteller and incredibly relatable. As a couple, they have the ability to make people feel comfortable enough to open up and share their lives. The content was applicable, and we left feeling very refreshed!
